For clinics of all sizes, the key to sustainability is efficiency. Modern Healthcare Delivery using an EMR
8:30 - 9:15
Vern Davenport, President Government Sector, Allscripts
Transformation of the health care delivery system by promoting widespread adoption of EHR technology is paramount in delivering quality healthcare today. And the overarching goal of HITECH / ARRA is to improve the quality and coordination of ambulatory and inpatient medical care by incentivizing the adoption and "meaningful use" of these HIT tools. Thus it benefits many to understand just what the EMRs offer to practicing clinicians around the country.
System-to-system: Connecting your EMR
9:15 - 10:00
Wesley Combs, LucentGlow
A stand-alone EMR system is a great way to generate extra work. Capturing lab results, connecting billing systems, manually issuing patient orders is all great fun but it can get in the way of seeing patients. System-to-system processes are the difference between a fully developed Return-On-Investment and an unrealized one. There are a number of messaging architectures, and this is one area of your infrastructure where Open Source is ready for the enterprise.
10:00 - 10:15 Morning break
Backup To The Forefront: Your Regional Options
10:15 - 11:15
Tom Deaderick, OnePartner, will briefly review the rationale for a comprehensive backup strategy. Without an effective recovery strategy, any organization is simply one bad day away from catastrophe. 60% of businesses that experience such a catastrophe go out of business in the subsequent year - Tom will bring your backup strategy to the forefront for a few minutes and then introduce you to solutions provided by businesses in the region. The ten minute review is followed by ten minute solution presentations by each provider.
