Mountain States Health Alliance (MSHA) is a locally owned and managed healthcare system based in Johnson City, Tennessee.  
 
Today, MSHA is integrated both vertically and horizontally and is the largest regional healthcare system with 14 hospitals. MSHA provides an integrated, comprehensive continuum of care to people in 29 counties in Tennessee, Virginia, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Each hospital is fully accredited, most by The Joint Commission.

Member Profile - Settle and Associates, LLC


Richard L. Settle is President of Settle and Associates LLC, a business consulting firm providing services in the areas of business development, telecommunications, government relations and economic development to clients in the private and public sectors. Present clients include telecommunications and information technology companies and firms engaged in manufacturing and construction.  
Previously, Mr. Settle served Verizon Communications in several capacities of steadily increasing responsibility, including the design, construction, and maintenance of aerial and buried telecommunications facilities. More recently, Mr. Settle served Verizon Virginia as Area Manager, External Affairs, where he was responsible for development and implementation of legislative and regulatory policy positions in Virginia .  
 
He has served on the Board of Directors of several public economic development agencies, including the Southwest Virginia Technology Council, Russell County Board of Supervisors, Cumberland Plateau Planning District Commission, Virginia Coalfield Economic Development Authority, Virginia Economic Bridge , and The Southwest Virginia Economic Development Commission.
